Developing Young Athletes Network Podcast

Oct 15, 2018

Our next guest I really like because he is an out the box thinker and has a passion for life and is living his dream. It all started with his love for baseball  and as a five year old in 1989 was a rookie at the South Shore Baseball Club which was the first year of operation for the organization. His eventual Scituate  HS coach said the he threw the ball harder than most 12 year olds. He went on to play AAU and HS where he was known to have a smoking fast ball in the 90’s along with a major league slider.

He continued his playing career at Wofford College in Spartanburg SC where by his Junior year he was already on the Major league radar. He had been contacted by the Mets, Padres and had outstanding workouts with the Pirates. Unfortunately he noticed pain in his right shoulder that eventually required surgery ending his college career and potential as a pro pitcher in the major league. But this didn’t stop his persistence and love for the game of baseball. He signed on as an intern with the Spartanburg team in the coastal plain league which is a amateur/collegiate baseball league. A year later in 2008  he signed on as the GM of the Gastonia Grizzlies by 2014 he bought the grizzlies and started Fans First entertainment by 2015 he and his fiance started a new coastal plain league and developed a team that would be later called the savannah bananas.

He and his team has been featured on MSNBC, CNN and multiple times on ESPN. The Savannah bananas team has has sold out 32 straight games and broke attendance records with a waiting list in the thousands or tickets.

He is also the author of Find Your Yellow Tux which is about how to be successful and stand out. He writes a blog, hosts a podcast, and releases daily videos. He never gave up on his passion for the game and now is having fun making a living having an impact of the game of baseball.
