Today's guest has a love for the sport of weightlifting. She started weightlifting in 2008 through the powerlifting program at Alvin High School. After graduating from Alvin in 2009 with two state titles and a second place finish at the USA Weightlifting University National Championships. She moved to Louisiana to attend LSU Shreveport and was able to compete in three University World Championship events while completing her degree.  After college, she moved to Colorado Springs to train full-time at the U.S. Olympic Training Center as a 2016 Olympic hopeful. During her time at the Olympic Training Center, she worked part-time for the City of Colorado Springs as an intern and completed her master degree in business administration. While working for the Office of the Mayor, she promoted weightlifting locally through public speaking events at area middle and high schools.

In 2015, after an injury following a final international performance in 2014, she moved to Houston, TX to join the LOC (local organized committee) for the 2015 IWF (international weightlifting federation) World Championships. During this time, she worked in event operations and athlete services and managed various high-level sporting events. In 2017 she joined the USA Weightlifting Staff as the Director of Grassroots Outreach and later as the Director of Recruitment and Outreach for the organization. Her focus is on recruiting talent from the high school, collegiate, semi-professional, and professional levels. She indeed has a passion for young athlete development.
