On today’s Athlete Tip of the Week Friday I discuss the importance of balance as a skill-building tool in the developing young athlete. Young athletes develop their athletic skills at various ages, and while it is important to know the techniques of your sport, it is also essential to develop functional movement skills that can enhance your level of play in your sport. Over the next few months I will discuss other aspects of functional movements but today’s topic will focus on the role of balance.
