Developing Young Athletes Network Podcast

Aug 31, 2020

Today our guest has experience in being an athlete and knowing what it takes to “fuel” an athlete. Growing up she was a competitive swimmer and then in her teenage years, she transitioned into triathlons and bike racing. Being a competitor she wanted to give herself an edge in competition and nutrition was one of the areas that she focused on to give her that advantage. She realized that she loved learning about nutrition and has since dedicated her life to collegiate and professional sports nutrition programs.

Our guest has spent time at the University of Kansas, the University of Illinois, and the University of Notre Dame Athletic Departments, working to support the large athletic departments with their nutritional needs and managing a team’s fueling during competition. In 2016 she joined St. Vincent Sports Performance and managed the fueling needs of the Indianapolis Fever and Indycar driver and pit crew athletes. She also runs online sports nutrition courses. Currently, she is an Instructor for the Concordia University-Chicago, Exercise Science, and Sports Leadership Program.
